I am a designer, engineer, and researcher. I enjoy the process of the input of one domain becoming the output of the other and turning theories into applications (reality). I am passionate about learning new technology and knowledge. I enjoy bringing together different study methods, knowledge, and thoughts from various areas in my work. I care about people’s health, especially mental health. At present, I am interested in realizing, exploring, and enhancing or redirecting human cognition through technologies. My independent study focus on the collaboration between human and artificial intelligence. I am curious about the impact of Emotion AI suggestions on people's social intelligence and experience. I want to build platforms to let AI enhance people's recognition and intelligence in the future. My past work covers other research interests, including building up interactive tangible interfaces, design and computation, creative coding, user-centered design, speculative design, and social and affective computing. I want to learn electric circuit design and embedded systems knowledge in the near future and start swimming in the pools of human-computer integration and interactive art device with AI interpretation.
Study Interest
I am a graduate student in Industrial Design, at Georgia Tech. In the past three years, I have swum in the pool of human-computer interaction. I have explored various areas, from digital to physical and from art to science and engineering. My rich experience in study brings me to think about problems and explore the interaction bandwidth between humans and technology from both people and technical perspectives. In my past experience, I have tried different research methods, qualitative and quantitative. Practicing those methods in research and project brings me a better understanding of their strengths and limitations. I am willing to continue to try different mix-methods in future research
Main Interest
I am interested in building a bridge between people and others and themselves through the computer. Realizing, exploring, and enhancing or redirecting human cognition through technologies is my main interest. What happens when computers are integrated into human life and society? What’s the impact on people? Many questions jump into my mind and become my motivation to explore the world. I made physical and digital interactive systems to bring people together and build up an empathetic world. In this process, I also do research to answer the questions in my mind and change my cognition.
Main Interest
I used to have interests in product semantics in industrial design and structural mechanics in materials and manufacturing. I've found that the properties of physical objects including, appearance, shape, movement, and properties of materials can deliver various information. We have created and developed rich forms of virtual information in the cyber world. However, our perception of the information is limited on the screens. I always believe that new types of physical interaction platforms can expand and enhance our perception of this information. I will apply this experience and knowledge to the application.
